Vinyl letters is cut from a roll of vinyl film, by a plotter which is controlled by a computer. All letters are computer spaced and held together by a liner (paper backing). The letters are lifted from the liner by using a "transfer tape" which holds everything together until the letters are transferred to the intended surface.
Materials Used:We use Avery Opaque Vinyl, which has a six year outdoor life expectancy.

Information needed to place an Order for vinyl letters:- Text (copy) to be used.
- Height of the letters.
- Width of the line of letters.
- Color of the letters.
- Font to be used. Select from over 140 available.
- Style (normal or italic) of the letters.
- Weight (normal or bold) of the letters.
- Quantity - the number of sets of the lettering that are desired.
Letter size is measured using the height of the capital (upper case) letters.
When sizing your text and using upper and lower case lettering, be sure to consider the space taken by the lower case letters that extend below the baseline (as in g, j, p, q, and y). Failing to take this into account may result in the letters being too large for the space available.
Lower case letters that extend below the baseline (the g, j, p, q, and y) add approximately the difference between the height of a lower case letter and and upper case letter. This difference is approximately 25% of the height.
The Ordering Process: Ordering vinyl letters is an easy process. The steps in the ordering process are:- Enter the desired text, the line width, and select the other details listed above. You can enter up to five lines of text at a time.
- Preview the entered lines of text. For each line of of text the cost and total for all copies of the text (if more than one copy is ordered) will be displayed. A condensed version of the text will be displayed in the color and font style (if you have the font on your computer). A full-size version of the text will also appear in the selected color and size.
- The lines of entered text and the other parameters can be changed until you are satisfied with the results. Click the Preview button after making any changes to see the latest version.
- Once you are satisfied with the entered text, add them to the shopping cart. Once a line of text has been placed in the shopping cart, no other changes can be made to that entry. If a change needs to be made, delete the line from the shopping cart and re-enter it.
- After lines of text have been placed in the shopping cart, you can view the shopping cart. Any line of text can be deleted from the shopping cart.
- The shopping cart shows the complete order, the cost for one copy of the line of text, the cost for all copies of each line of text, and the total cost of all entries in the shopping cart.
- You can return to add more lines of text (return to order form), delete items from the shopping cart, empty the shopping cart, cancel the order, or check out (complete the purchase by submitting the order and paying for it via PayPal).
- Before going to PayPal, you must have an account on Vinyl Letters by Buddy.
- If you have an account, then you can login.
- if you do NOT have an account, then you need to create one. You will be asked to enter an user name, password, your name, address, and telephone number. The password will be encrypted so no one will be able to read it.
- Once you have created an account, then you will be asked to login.
- After you have logged-in, you can continue with the checkout process or logout.
- The next step is to enter or confirm your Billing and Shipping addresses. If the shipping address is the same as the billing address, then check the box and the information will automatically be copied from the Billing Address to the Shipping Address.
- After the Billing and Shipping Addresses have been submitted, the Final Shopping Cart is displayed. This cart includes sales taxes, shipping charges, and a total cost of the order.
- There are three options available: Empty the shopping cart, cancel the order, or submitting the payment to PayPal.
- On the next web page you will be given one more chance to cancel the order or confirm that you want to submit the order to PayPal.
- Processing your order at PayPal:
- Once at the PayPal web site, you have the option of submitting a payment or may cancel the order. If you cancel the order, you will be returned to the Vinyl Letters by Buddy web site acknowledging the order has been canceled.
- While at the PayPal web site, follow the process and directions presented there.
- After you make a payment, you will be returned to the Vinyl Letters by Buddy web site where an acknowledgement of the order will be displayed. You will also receive an e-mail message from PayPal acknowledging the order, the payment, and confirming the order details.
